These panels were very popular during the 70s and 80s and installed in many homes during that time period. Years later, after many house fires have been known to be caused by these breakers and panels, investigations have found that the now defunct Federal Pacific (also known as FP or FPE) knowingly falsified tests and certifications when selling these items to the public.
